THE SHADOW PRINCE Teaser Tuesday #2

I know it's late in the day, but it's STILL Tuesday, so that means it's time for another teaser from THE SHADOW PRINCE.

But first, I must announce the winner of Teaser Tuesday #1. Drum roll please . . . .

And the winner is: Michelle Chaffee!****

Now for Teaser Tuesday #2:

I've often said that THE SHADOW PRINCE is a crazy-fun mish-mash of all the things I love, rolled together with some Bree Despain-style romance.  This is especially true when it comes to Haden Lord--the disgraced prince of the Underrealm and one of the book's main characters. So today I thought I would share with you my inspiration board for Haden--featuring a few of my favorite fictional hotties.

Then be sure to come back and enter this week's giveaway:

I was privileged enough to get a signed ARC or DEFY from my friend Sara B. Larson. I read it (and it's awesome, by the way) and now I have her permission to give my copy away to one of you!

Enter the Rafflecopter giveaway below to win my signed ARC of DEFY and also a Shadow Prince silver Lyre necklace.***

(Why the lyre necklace?  Because the lyre is the ancient Greek symbol for music and storytelling. And music plays a very important role in THE SHADOW PRINCE, where it is forbidden for one character and essential to another.)

a Rafflecopter giveaway

***Contest is open internationally. Winner will be announced next Tuesday. Winner must claim their prize within 30 days or it will be forfeit.
****Winner, if you did not receive my email, hit the contact button above and send me your shipping address so I can send out your prize.

Hmmmm.... I'll go with a classic, Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. He's smart, financially stable, generous, and forgiving. Sure he comes across as a little too cocky at first but his true character is really just gently confident and shy.

I don't really know. I guess Ash Redfern from LJ Smith's Night World series. His over-confident, kinda-jerky personality definitely applies to one of my MCs.

I just finished watching the BBC's Robin Hood and just loved Robin. He's noble (in both senses of the word!), believes in justice, fights for those less fortunate, uses cleverness over force, is loyal, kind, and just all around awesome.

Plus, I like that he's scrappy and a little awkward.

There are so many fictional guys I draw inspiration from for my characters!

But most recently the characters from The Hollow Crown (the BBC series) have been VERY inspiring to me!

Will Cooper from Slammed by Colleen Hoover is pretty much perfect

Looking forward to reading this! I'm a personal fan of Etienne in Anna and the French Kiss. :)

I would have to say Ash from The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. He was dark and dangerous, but still loved Meghan deeply and would do anything for her.

There have been a lot of inspirational hotties, but the first one that comes to mind is Gabriel in Archangel by Sharon Shinn. I was so in love with him as a teenager.

Dante off of Lisa Mangum's the Hourglass Door. He has an accent, spouts poetry, and thinks with his heart. That's my triple threat.

Hmmm. You just HAD to ask the hardest question EVER didn't you? :) I can narrow it down to about three.
1. Percy Jackson
2. Zach Somethin from Ally Carter's Gallagher Girl series.
3. Arthur (Bradley James) in the BBC series Merlin. I think I used a whole box of tissues when I watched the last episode. I just love him. Such a great actor.

Hmmm well I feel a little awkward but I want to read this book. The girl that inspires me is Hermoine Granger, always had a crush on her growing up,

Obviously Daniel from the Dark Divine series. Not, just because I'm trying to suck-up or something. ;) Also, Cricket from Lola and the Boy Next Door. Ooooo, and Patch from Hush, Hush series.
